I am a medical doctor specialized in general psychiatry. I am passionate about my job, I find it fascinating to learn about the many factors that influence our psyche. And there is so much we can do for our health!
I received my medical degree from Navarra University, Spain, and completed my training in general psychiatry at La Paz Hospital in Madrid, one of the top ranked Spanish hospitals. To advance my knowledge on development and prevention of psychiatric disorders I moved to the USA, where I completed a two-year fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at New York University – Child Study Center, thanks to a scholarship from the prestigious Alicia Koplowitz Foundation. Part of my training there was devoted to research projects aimed to prevent psychopathology in kids from disadvantaged backgrounds. Later on I was fortunate to further this training at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where I completed a Masters Degree in Public Health.
Presently, I work for PsychoSoziale Zentren GmbH, as a regional medical director for the ambulatories PSD in Tulln and Klosterneuburg, and as an adjunct psychiatrist in PSD Tulln. I strive to keep my knowledge updated, attending international conferences and courses and researching scientific literature on a regular basis.
In my clinical practice I do my best for my patients to feel at ease. I like to take as much time as needed to answer questions and reach a comprehensive evaluation. I am committed to foster the therapeutic alliance and to provide with a psychoeducation for empowerment.
